A Day at Morongo’s Pow Wow

Beautiful day today.  We went to the Thunder and lightning Pow Wow at Morongo.

I felt so peaceful there. The mountains looked especially beautiful with a little bit of clouds decorating them.

We got there at 11. These are the vendors outside. We are not allowed photos inside.

I had to have frybread. My very first time. I am officially obsessed!  Esther told me about it. I just haven’t had it. I had it with honey. It was the size of a dinner plate. I ate the whole thing!  I’ll go on a diet tomorrow.

Dwight and I watched the opening, flag presentation and all contestants walked in. So many of them!!  Gorgeous regalia. Beautiful people. Men, women, and children. I

This was the tallest man!  I asked permission for a photo.

I couldn’t resist taking more pictures of the mountains.

I again, asked permission for a photo.  The older men entered first when everything started. I cant help but thinking “teachers”.

We bought me a new medicine bag. I keep my protection crystals and medals in it.

Dwight bought me this. The turtle spoke to me. It’s a sand painting fixed onto this. It has a story on the back.  The gentleman who made it is Navajo. His grandmother was born in 1879.

New earrings!
Again, they called to me. A lady was walking by the bleachers selling them. Dwight says they look very good on me. ❤️ He said they complement me.

I was in line getting coffee at the casino while Dwight played the machines in the smoking area. The floor was so crowded!  The smoking area was calm. The desserts looked so perfect, they seemed fake.

Look at that fruit! So perfectly beautiful.

We were having coffee and chocolate croissant.  I had a maple cinnamon late. Needs more coffee included. But it was yummy.

Dwight took this picture.

More mountain photos from the parking lot.

I took this photo in the shuttle that took us back to the casino.

More mountain views from the parking lot before going home.  After changing into sneakers. My feet were protesting the new boots.

The drive home was smooth. Nice drive.
Thank you Dwight, for my birthday outing.

Looks like this one was last night.
